After a very long white phase in interior design and an even longer period in which white ruled the bathroom unchallenged, black is adding new accents to the colour scheme again. Regardless of whether it’s used with glossy or matt finishes, black is smart, neutral and looks great with other colours.

Surrounded by black furniture or fabrics, decorative items or other furnishings stand out particularly well – in fact, they almost seem to glow. But the combination of a white washbasin and a black base unit is also very popular right now. The new black trend is evident in fabrics too, which are being brought to life with interesting textures. And where there’s darkness, there’s light: the “non-colours” black and white can be contrasted to produce some fascinating patterns and combinations. Black and white is after all a traditionally popular look that conjures up memories of fashions from the ’50s and ’60s. But various shades of grey are in evidence as well. However, there’s one thing none of the shapes that are currently wearing black can afford to dispense with: a timeless quality is crucial.to life with interesting textures.
