Puro Marazzi: the built-in antibacterial technology for tiles
According to th manufacturer, with the new technology Puro Marazzi Antibacterial,
bacteria and other harmful microorganisms can be eleminated on ceramic surfaces by up to
99.9 percent. By incorporating the additives that combat
germ proliferation in the initial product firing phases, Puro Marazzi ensures a
constant action against a broad spectrum of bacteria, in any light conditions,
and an exceptionally long surface lifetime, since it dynamically prevents the
marks left by organic wear.
Puro
Marazzi porcelain stoneware and ceramic surfaces are ideal for all locations -
residential, commercial and public - especially in contexts where
improved hygiene, cleanliness and safety must be guaranteed, such as bathrooms
in, bars, restaurants, hotels, Doctors' offices, schools, retirement homes or hospitals.
Puro Marazzi Antibacterial, intrinsic hygiene and safety
The silver
ion additive is incorporated in the ceramic tile production process before
firing at 1200°C, becoming an integral part of the product. Therefore, it is
not an extra layer on top of the ceramic surface, liable to be scratched or
worn; it is a permanent treatment that guarantees constant antibacterial
protection over time.
The
bactericidal action, tested in accordance with the toughest international
standards, remains active throughout the surface’s life cycle and does not
require activation by external agents such as UV radiation. Puro Marazzi
Antibacterial ceramic coverings can be installed on the walls and floors.
Many locations, especially indoors, may have little or no UV radiation. Thanks
to their built-in silver properties, Puro Marazzi Antibacterial ceramic
surfaces guarantee an effective product protection against bacteria and other
harmful microorganisms in all lighting conditions. Further more, the
bactericidal action withstands the chemicals on which many of the most common
disinfectants are based, often ammonia compounds.
