Dornbracht’s MEM now in copper

03/14

What follows form? What value do things need in a time where good design and well-thought-out function are presumed as self-evident? These reflections formed the point of departure in 2003 for the development of the original MEM. With the flat, broad outlet and an understated aesthetic, the fitting has since established itself as one of the most successful series in the Dornbracht portfolio.

Also the MEM rain sprinkler will be available in the new Cyprum finish.

New to Dornbracht: a free-standing bath mixer with flow spout and bar-type, hand-held shower head. For even more freedom in individual bathroom planning.

Now, MEM has been finessed with contemporary adjustments in design and functionality.! True to its guiding principle - 'reduce everything to the essentials, but don't eliminate the poetry' - Dornbracht has implemented variations of the body of the fitting for single-lever mixers and bidet fittings, and of the lever for all MEM family, adapted proportions and optimised technology.

With the rosette dimensions adapted to 60x60 mm, Dornbracht has made an important step towards digital combinations with MEM: All MEM products can now be combined with outlets and controls with other designs and from other series, e.g. the Water Modules introduced in 2013 under the motto: 'Personal needs, individual spaces', or the Smart Water digital control technology. For the client, this means even more freedom in the design and application of an individual selection. For bathroom planners and specialist retailers, it opens up new opportunities for display and product combinations.

As part of this finessing process, Dornbracht is also introducing a new, galvanic finish that will first be available exclusively to MEM and, later on, to other, select series. After several years of interior design being dominated by cool whites and metallics, such as silver, steel and aluminium, warm and glowing hues of pink gold and copper are now experiencing a renaissance. With Cyprum Dornbracht has honed in on this trend. The highly reflective finish combines18-karat fine gold with genuine copper. These finishes wants to symbolise elegance and beauty while at the same time bring warmth, intimacy and a familiar, natural feeling. The name Cyprum is inspired by the latin name of copper, 'cuprum'

In addition, there is one completely new product type to complement the MEM series. A new free-standing bathtub mixer with flow spout and bar-type, and hand-held shower head emphasises the purist language of design of the fitting series with its black matte finish. From Spring 2014, the new MEM designs will be available in a variety of finishes: chrome, platinum, platinum matte and the new pink gold hue Cyprum.
