Port 1 was founded by Wolfgang John and Britt Thormann. Wolfgang John is a master plumber, master heating engineer and supply technician. He also has many years of experience as a designer. He shares a passion for sophisticated design with Britt Thormann. The artist and owner of the Port 1 Art gallery sets stylish accents in their own showroom and in their projects. These make the character of the Port 1 brand tangible: inviting, refreshing and sometimes extravagant.

Port 1 rethinks the concept of "bathroom" on a daily basis which they show in their showroom, located at the gates of Hamburg‘s Hafencity, in the middle of the vibrant “Portugiesenviertel”. Whether as a private or commercial customer, as an owner or architect: at Port 1, nothing less than the bathroom of the future awaits the visitor. The trend is towards a bathroom that is a homely retreat to linger in. The basic equipment with shower, bathtub and WC is joined by wellness components such as sauna and steam bath. Inviting seating and tables are now also part of the package. Accessibility is a "must" and innovative surfaces inspire with unprecedented properties.
