Hotel Luc Berlin sets strong accents in the bathrooms
With a view of the French Cathedral
on the Gendarmen Market, in one of Berlin's best locations, the Hotel Luc has
opened its doors. Based on the Prussian history of the city, not only the name
of Frederick II of Prussia, affectionately called "Luc" by his
friend, the French philosopher Voltaire, was taken up, but also the Prussian
colours.
At the Hotel Luc the interior
designer Oana Rosen has interpreted the Prussian past of the city with a
contemporary mix of styles. There, geometric clarity in noble-looking colour
tones meets cosy interiors and spacious marble bathrooms equipped with Keuco fittings, accessories and cosmetic mirrors in brushed black chrome. The
combination of black accents on the walls in light colours wants to ensure a particularly
powerful and noble effect.
Bathrooms in black and white set a modern contrast
All of the 70 rooms and 22 suites
all take up the concept of straightforwardness, paired with noble elements and
historical charm. So, in the bedrooms and living room areas at the Boutique
Hotel Luc, an elegant world opens up in deep Prussian blue and soft natural
colours. The bathrooms set a modern contrast in a black and white colour scheme
to this, with the finishes of the fittings at the washbasin and in the shower,
the illuminated cosmetic mirrors as well as the accessories in brushed black
chrome, having been produced using a PVD coating process. This aims to
guarantee an extremely insensitive surface with a rich colour tone and a very
high degree of hardness – especially a big advantage, when used in hotels.
EDITION 400 and IXMO fitting for the washbasins and showers
In the bathrooms a modern design
statement is set at the washbasins with EDITION 400 fittings from Keuco. Their
round design harmonizes with the rounded forms of the countertop washbasins, as
well as with the cosmetic mirror iLook_move from Keuco. Thanks to the
illumination and a five-fold magnification, even small blemishes would not go
undetected.
In the showers IXMO fittings have
been installed, which with their minimalist design combine several functions in
the smallest space, since a choice can be made between a large overhead shower
and a handshower with a 2-way shut-off and diverter valve. The hose connection
and shower holder are both combined in one fitting element. And the temperature
and water flow can be determined by using the single-lever mixer. Also in
brushed black chrome, and therefore matching the fitting, the PLAN shower
basket offers space for care products.
Consistent bathroom design
The same picture can be found at
the baths, where IXMO fittings with square rosettes were used. For a consistent
bathroom design the EDITION 400 toilet paper holder and the toilet brush set
have been used in the toilet area. And even the hygiene bag dispenser and the
spare toilet roll holder have been chosen in brushed black chrome to match the
overall bathroom design. Thus, the extravagant finishes of the fittings and
accessories in brushed black chrome aim to underline the design competence of
the bathroom amenities and the high-quality look of the boutique hotel.
