Portraitfoto Axel Venn

As a colour expert, Axel Venn negotiates a path between the worlds of perception, effect and reality. His research into colour is focused on the decoding of messages. A large part of his work is dedicated to research-orientated, strategic trend scouting and the effects on society, economy and design. For decades, he has been guest speaker in Germany and all over the world. Axel Venn is the honorary chairperson of the Deutsches Farbenzentrum e.V. (German Centre for Colours). He has published 25 books on the topic of colour which have so far been translated into 12 languages.

And just as the trend towards more outdoor living continues unabated, the colours of the natural world are increasingly taking hold in the interior. Especially in the bathroom. As a result, the garden designer is turning into a source of inspiration for his bathroom counterpart: an active transfer of styling and colours from outdoors to indoors is taking place, manifesting our desire to escape from dreary interiors.

Professor Axel Venn will be speaking about the euphoria of bathroom enthusiasts and their theories for the future:

  • The signs indicate a colour shift in the bathroom.
  • Is it our longings that drive us?
  • Or a playful penchant for experimentation?
  • Perhaps it’s the desire for fresh colours that create a sense of the exotic?
  • Or courageous self-experiments – away from the innovative centre?

Professor Venn himself will be unleashing so much euphoria for his subject that his audience will end up feeling freshly showered.
