High and quality: Luxury apartments in Warsaw feature Kaldewei baths and enamelled shower surfaces

10/13

The Cosmopolitan Tower in Warsaw’s city centre is a building project best described in superlatives. Towering at 160 m, the structure counts 44 floors and will be the second highest residential building in Warsaw and the third highest in Poland. The structural design of the luxury tower was devised by noted architectural firm Murphy/Jahn and is modelled in style on an American skyscraper. The tower is due to be completed in early 2014. It will then offer 252 luxury apartments ranging in size from 54m2 to almost 500m2, each with a breathtaking view of Warsaw.

Kaldewei’s Conoduo bath excels with a straight-lined, purist design and an enamelled waste cover as a characteristic design element. Featured here in Lava Black matt, it perfectly complements the sophisticated marble style of the Cosmopolitan bathrooms.

Not just the view from the apartment windows will be extravagant, with an interior to match that will leave nothing to be desired. The latter will be designed by the de novo studio of Magdalena Dusińska and Magda Jeziorowska from Warsaw. “The furnishing and décor of the luxury apartments in the Cosmopolitan Tower will have a mainly universal, timeless style. Choice design was important to us, but so was superior material quality. The bathrooms in the Cosmopolitan, for instance, are cased in marble. Baths and enamelled shower surfaces from Kaldewei therefore fit exquisitely with the classy ambiance and deliver the stellar quality we were looking for,” explains interior designer Magdalena Dusińska.

Kaldewei excels in aesthetics and structural safety

In 2008, many noted architectural firms vied for the contract to design the Cosmopolitan apartment tower The winning design was submitted by Murphy/Jahn. Its founder, Helmut Jahn, is an American architect with German roots who is considered one of the stars of contemporary architecture.

Marble and steel enamel are displayed as the perfect composition for the bathroom in select Cosmopolitan show apartments. “When we decided on marble for the bathroom, we needed something that would aesthetically complement it and came across the colour collection of the Coordinated Colours from Kaldewei. We went for Conoduo baths and matching Conoflat enamelled shower surfaces – in Ancona Brown matt, Lava Black matt and Arctic White matt,” said Tacit Development Poland CEO and architect Michał Borowski. “Aside from the quality design, we were equally impressed with the installation solutions which Kaldewei could offer. When you have to install a bath or shower surface a hundred times over, you want to know that you can rely on such aspects as sealing and structural safety. We therefore decided against tiled shower areas and instead go for Kaldewei products made of steel enamel.”

Designer items for the bathroom: Conoflat and Conoduo

Architect Michał Borowski, CEO of Tacit Development Poland, opts for Kaldewei quality: “Aside from the quality design, we were equally impressed with the installation solutions which Kaldewei could offer."

The Cosmopolitan apartment fitters are taken with the baths and enamelled shower surfaces of Kaldewei’s Cono range, which was designed by well-known Milan design firm Sottsass Associati. The floor-level Conoflat shower surface made of superior and durable steel enamel has no visible inner contour ensuring it integrates smoothly in the bathroom architecture, while the central outflow with square cover in the same colour as the tray acts as a characteristic design element. Made of the same durable steel enamel as the shower, it sits flush with the shower surface to combine stability and comfort underfoot with a visual aesthetic that emphasises the elegant appearance of the shower. The enamelled Conoflat shower surface in the bathrooms of the Cosmopolitan luxury apartments is complemented by Conoduo baths. These also feature a central enamelled waste outlet along with two symmetrically shaped backrests that invite a relaxing bath à deux.
