Editorial team: Who’s talking about the bathroom here?

Trends don’t emerge from press releases. They emerge where society, design and technology converge – at trade fairs and in manufacturing facilities, in architectural practices and at exhibitions, in research studies and in conversations with the people who plan, design and build bathrooms. This is precisely where the editorial team at Pop up my Bathroom works: we observe, analyse and interpret the trends shaping the bathroom of tomorrow – for bathroom planners, architects, interior designers and journalists who want to know more than what’s in the catalogue.
Since ISH 2009, Pop up my Bathroom – an initiative of the German Sanitary Industry Association (VDS) and Messe Frankfurt – has been shaping the evolution of bathroom culture. What began as a campaign is now an international platform for creative bathroom design – curated by an editorial team that has known the industry for many years yet continues to view it with fresh eyes every day. Here’s a bit about us.
Three minds, three perspectives, one space

Frank A. Reinhardt | Spots the trend before it becomes a product
Frank A. Reinhardt approaches the bathroom from a broader perspective. As a specialist journalist and long-standing observer of the international design scene, he traces the currents that transform social developments into bathroom trends – from the Milan Furniture Fair to the ISH, from trend studies to concrete interior design. At Pop up my Bathroom, he is responsible for the platform’s trend topics and conceptual formats: analyses that explain why the bathroom is changing before the products reflect it. His aim is not simply to present trends, but to contextualise them – so that observation translates into planning knowledge.

Claudia Wanninger | Turning expertise into reading material
Precise in substance, light in tone: Claudia Wanninger’s strength lies in her clarity. She structures complex interrelationships between bathroom planning, interior design and the product world in such a way that they make for a rewarding read – precise in substance, light in tone. At Pop up my Bathroom, she oversees the editorial quality of the articles and ensures that every piece lives up to its headline. If an article on the platform feels like a good conversation amongst professionals, it’s usually down to her.

Lars Mörs | Knows what the market is really thinking
Lars Mörs is the editorial team’s eyes and ears within the industry. Communication and networking are his strengths: he knows the ins and outs of the sanitaryware sector, from manufacturing through to wholesale and specialist retailers, and understands which developments are actually driving the market – and which remain nothing more than trade fair rumours. On Pop up my Bathroom, he offers a glimpse behind the scenes: innovations, market trends and the question of which of these actually make their way into bathrooms. Ensuring that the platform’s content is easily found is also part of his remit – search engine optimisation included.
