After graduating from the University of Mannheim, Holger Roßberg worked in marketing at a communications agency. He has served in many companies and industries, holding posts in marketing, sales and sales controlling, including board-level positions. His key responsibilities in these roles included crisis management, quality and environmental management. He has been a Research Associate in the Assistive Technologies Research Group at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences since 2012. He is currently involved in the development of a robotic showering system within the framework of a European research project.

Automatic assisted washing and showering systems can help to maintain quality of life, support individuals in living independently and with dignity, and reduce the burden of caring for them on their families, home support workers and residential carers.

But to date, relatively little research has been undertaken on developing robotic support systems for personal hygiene. Holger Roßberg’s talk will present a brief historical outline of international developments and models, and discuss the prospects for current developments and projects, such as the EU I-SUPPORT project.
